Type 10: Eros Leaning on a Tree-trunk

This reverse type was struck only in Cius in Bithynia.

* Cius in Bithynia, coins of Commodus, Geta Caesar and Severus Alexander (not illustrated). The reverses, with Eros turned r., his r. hand behind his back in the “weary Heracles” pose (see Type 06), his l. resting on a (knobbly) tree-trunk, are rather like (and probably easily mistaken for) Type 07 coins from Cius, where Eros is leaning on a (straight) down-turned torch.
